Lying Leg Raises

Start by laying flat on your back. Be sure to keep your back flat, pressing your pelvis into the mat. You are welcome to hold the sides of the mat with your hands or straight by your hips.

Begin the exercise by raising both legs off of the ground. Keep your legs straight and together, with a slight bend in your knees. Engaging your core, raise your legs up towards your head until your legs are directly over your hips.

Slowly lower your legs down towards the ground. If you notice your back lifting as your legs go down, return to the top of the leg raise. On your next rep, lower your legs enough to engage the core without letting your back lift off of the ground.

Modification:

Complete the exercise one leg at a time.
